We are a leading Contractors on HS2 works for Ancient Soil translocation Work and Ecology Mitigation Contracts.  Ancient woodlands soil translocation is one of the core activities undertaken by Task Engineering Solutions. We have been involved in some of the major HS2 woodlands soil translocation schemes on Northern Section working with the Principal Contractor.

We have undertaken Tree Removal and Soil translocation of both Ancient Semi-Natural Woodland (ASNW) as well as Plantations on Ancient Woodland Sites (PAWS).  Also, we are collaborating with HS2 to develop Ecological mitigation sites and have created large number of ponds to create aquatic habitats etc.  We have the capacity to undertake surveying and mapping out of both donor and receptor sites.

All our translocation of ancient woodland soil is done in accordance with the guidance and requirements set out within Ancient Woodland Translocation Strategy (AWT) & HS2 Ecology Technical Standard.  Translocation always requires experience and detailed understanding of the habitat in question, as well as specialist equipment. We pride ourselves with the necessary experience to provide a solution to all of these.
